Gas grills have been in use since the 1960s. Since then, developments to make them more efficient and safer have been ongoing, leading to the launch of the Web Genesis models in 2007.

The flagship product in this launch was the Web Genesis E-310, a grill that has three 42,000BTU rated burners. The E310 has a large cooking area at 636 x 529 square inches in size. The Web Genesis E-320 on its part is designed for efficiency, has a smaller burning area and will last a decade at peak performance.

Features

Both the Weber Genesis E-310 and E-320 run on propane gas or natural gas and can connect directly to the home gas line. The Genesis E-310 has a wide burning area and is best for outdoor grilling. It has a built-in propane storage tank, a thermometer and a warming rack. All its metal surfaces are made with stainless steel including the handles, trims and accents. The Genesis E-310 comes in green, black and blue colors, blending well with any outdoor background.

The Weber Genesis E-320 is made around the concepts of efficiency and safety. It is small and its body is fully enclosed in steel. Its shroud is enameled with porcelain ensuring an even distribution of heat during grilling. The cooking area includes a 506 square inch grilling space and a 130 square inch warming rack. The Weber Genesis E-320 has a side burner that is flush mounted, a unique feature from the E-310.

Reviews Analysis

Both the Weber Genesis E-310 and the Weber Genesis E-320 are hugely popular and numerous online reviews have been posted about them. Home and Kitchen magazines have also highlighted the growing fan base of the Weber Genesis models, across the board.

A look at the reviews shows consumers are particularly impressed with the power of the Weber Genesis E model grills, with dealers and stores noting the consistency in their quality. They are also attractive and can be used in any platform or function. The wide range of colors, the porcelain parts and the sparkling stainless steel contribute to their immense popularity.

Other great features include the heat distribution system as enabled by the heavy enamel lid and cast aluminum. The use of aluminum is to help in conserving heat and therefore save on gas consumption. The frame of both the Weber Genesis E-310 and the Weber Genesis E-320 is welded as opposed to being bolted or riveted, making it stronger and long lasting.

The Weber Genesis models are widely available in stores, both online and on location. Depending on particular dealers, their prices range from $700 to $1000 and this includes the complete grilling package.

Overall, the Weber Genesis E-310 and the Weber Genesis E-320 are the best you can get in quality, safety and durability, a great bargain for their price. If handled with care, they can last a decade. You will be proud to pass them on to your children.

Congratulations! You've just bought a new Weber! But, don't put away your wallet yet. If you spent more than $400 on your grill, you need to spend another $30 or so on a Weber Grill Cover.

I’ve owned several grills over the last 20-25 years. I started out with a Smokey Joe, graduated to a Weber kettle, and then eventually went to gas grills, and then to my current Weber Summit. Along with these different grills, I have also bought different grill covers for them. Most the time I bought a cheap $10 one at the store and put it over the top.

Cheap, generic covers are not made for your Weber. They are thin plastic and do not come all the way down to fasten to your grill. Many of them have air vents, which let in the rain. You might as well put a trash bag over your grill. All it takes is one or two good storms, and the plastic rips and the seams come apart.

Up until a few years ago, I figured that all grill covers were the same.

I went to my brother-in-law’s house in Indianapolis and saw his grill sitting in the garage. He has a nice Weber Grill Cover and I made a comment that he must have bought himself an early Christmas present. He said it wasn’t new, but it was three years old. Was it expensive? Not really… only about twice as much as those cheap ones.

You see a Weber Grill Cover is not made like a trash bag. It doesn’t stick to your grill when it rains. It has velcro at the bottom to keep it hooked to your grill to keep the weather off. And, the heavy-duty material will not only keep the cover looking like new, but most importantly will keep your grill looking like new.

Up until my trip to Indianapolis, I had bought a new cover every year, or until there were so many rips in it that the duct tape could no longer hold it together. I got home, got the model number off my grill, and went to Amazon to order my Weber grill cover. I found that they have the best prices and the widest availability.

If you are going to buy one, at least go by Amazon because they have so many other people who have bought them and put their review on the site. Most models have two qualities. Go for the higher quality for about $5 more. You’ll be glad you did.

The only gripe you will find there is some of the models of covers that still have some air vents on the side. No biggy. Just order the ones without the air vents. The covers look nice in either a gray or black, and they have the big Weber logo on them. I’ve had my current one for three years now, and it honestly looks as good as the day I got it.

As I am typing this right now, the winds are blowing and a storm is approaching just west of Ft. Worth. While not wanting to corny about this, one of the things I like is the fact that my grill will be good sitting out on the deck in the upcoming storm. We grill twelve months out of the year, and so I like to take care of mine by using a Weber grill cover.

If you have gone out and bought a new Weber grill, then take a few minutes and invest another $25 to $40 in a new Grill Cover for your Weber.

So, why do you need a grill cover? The most obvious reasons are to keep the weather away from your grill. This includes storms, morning dew, wind, sun, etc. All of these things can and will take a toll on your grill. A quality cover will make your grill last longer.

You don’t want just any kind of cover. Don’t go to Walmart and buy some cheap one for $7. A Grill Cover Weber is a much higher quality material and is custom designed to fit all the different models of Weber grills, from the $100 grill to the $4,000 grill. A generic one will never fit right and I guarantee it will let in the rain and rip much easier.

I know there are some cool looking grill covers with some kind of sports or team logo on them. Those will look good for about 1 month, or until the first big storm. The wind will rip those to shreds, and the sun will fade away any kind of logo. There is a reason why they only cost $7! You get what you paid for.

I finally put up the money to buy a Grill Cover Weber for my specific model – a $1,200 Weber Summit. If I had known the difference I would have bought one sooner. The cover comes down and fits over my grill just right. At the bottom is velcro that I can use to tie it down. The material is thick and does not stick to the grill when it rains.

Two years ago we had a storm where the winds were blowing between 50 – 70 mph. Our fence go knocked down, but the cover stayed on my grill – no rips or tearing, and no rain touched my grill. Had that been one of the cheaper ones I have used in the past, it would have been torn to pieces and my grill could have been damaged.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Now I don’t mean to be making such a big deal about a grill cover, but it’s one of those things that can make a big difference. I have friends who don’t use covers, and their grills are ready to be replaced after only a few years.

A quality Grill Cover for your Weber will make a difference and will keep it looking like new for many years. And, it’s not just the outside of the grill I’m talking about. The most important parts are under the lid of your grill. The last thing you want is rain to get in and oxidize and rust out some of the wiring, grill, and hardware.

One of the things that is never very appealing is to have a bunch of friends over for a backyard BBQ, only to lift the lid to cook the chicken or burgers, and see all the rust and wear on your grill. It kind of spoils the appetites of your friends who seem to suddenly lose their appetite.

Having a grill is a great thing… get a Grill Cover that is made by Weber for your Weber. The best place (at least that I have found) is to go over to Amazon and search for one. They have the most available at the best prices.
